Many of the Tulane professors use ‘Unnatural Causes’ episodes in their lectures because it illustrates an excellent public health multidisciplinary view of the health of Americans. The series focuses on addressing the need to understand and improve  health through the promotion of equality on many levels including ethnicity, gender, and socioeconomic.

The next production by this team is ‘The Raising of America’ which explores how a strong start for children can lead to better individual outcomes and in turn a more prosperous and equitable future of America. A screening of the rough-cut first episode of ‘The Raising of America’ was premiered at this years APHA Annual Meeting in Boston to outstanding reviews.

The official series will be released in 2014 including a public broadcasting on PBS and five 30 minute supporting episodes available on their webpage.
