cEMCH LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM
This program fosters continuous learning for maternal and child health (MCH) practitioners through seminars, workshops, and specialized coursework, ensuring up-to-date knowledge and practical skills to address the evolving needs of women, infants, children, youth, and families.
It includes one-on-one mentoring to support long-term career goals and offers practica and community service outreach for hands-on experience in real-world settings. Conducted in partnership with public health agencies and organizations, the program emphasizes comprehensive MCH education. Additionally, it prioritizes research in maternal well-being, child development, and youth violence prevention, aiming to enhance health outcomes and promote equity.
Students selected for this program have the opportunity to receive partial tuition support.
MCH Trainee Program
CEMCH provides professional development opportunities to Maternal and Child Health (MCH) practitioners – current and future. Our goal is to expand and strengthen the MCH workforce in Louisiana, the Gulf South, and beyond to improve the health status of women, infants, children, youth, and families.
The purpose of this program is to provide financial support and capacity-building skills to an online MPH and DrPH student who is currently an MCH professional. The trainee will have the opportunity to attend bi-monthly meetings and training sessions focused on developing practice and research skills and knowledge. These include academic writing skills, other communication skills, MCH professional training, and personal development workshops.
