Position Description

POSITION TITLE: Training Coordinator, Training Department

LOCATION: Atlanta-G-CAPP HQ

SUPERVISOR: Training Director

JOB STATUS: Full-time, Exempt

Summary Description:

The Training Coordinator will assist the Training Department in building the capacity of youth service providers with the tools, skills, and current research needed to eliminate teen pregnancy in the state of Georgia.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Performs a situational analysis including: stakeholders, political and advocacy environment, services available, access, health issues, social services, transportation, demographics, communities
  • Builds solid relationships with key organizations and partners at the local, state, regional and national level, including media, faith organizations and Latino community.
  • Assesses current research and information on knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and practices of teens/parents and program providers regarding teen pregnancy prevention, especially in the Latino community
  • Develops and cultivates relationships to form an Advisory Group and service provider network
  • Assists in raising funds for the Training Department, including formulating proposals (possibly in cooperation with other organizations), in conjunction with G-CAPP’s Development staff
  • Develops, delivers, and evaluates a portfolio of training and technical assistance, culturally appropriate for state and community programs and systems
  • Demonstrates exceptional training skills, including leading large group discussion, group facilitation, and managing controversial subject matter using a wide range of training strategies
  • Designs and develops a dissemination plan for curricula, products, results and lessons learned locally, regionally, and nationally
  • Provides assistance to other G-CAPP departments as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent skills in oral and written communication, especially related to training.
  • Knowledge of adolescent reproductive health including abstinence, pregnancy, HIV and STD prevention, and youth development.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Training and Development, Education, Public Health or related field.
