PSI/Myanmar seeks a Technical Advisor to provide leadership in the area of Research and Metrics.
The Technical Advisor will be responsible for providing oversight and capacity building to the Research and Metrics department. This position will be based in Rangoon, Myanmar.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical assistance in research design for six health areas including study designs, questionnaire development, analysis and dissemination;
- Train country-level researchers and build capacity to design studies, oversee data collection, and analyze results;
- Design quantitative studies to segment populations, monitor social marketing and franchising activities and to evaluate intervention effectiveness;
- Design qualitative studies to develop communication concepts, and pretest communication strategies;
- Write reports and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders; and
- Publish research findings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- PHD in public health, behavioral sciences, population studies, psychology, communication, or a related field plus at least three years of professional experience;
- Experience in design, analysis, dissemination, and management of behavioral research pertaining to reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, malaria or maternal/child health;
- Experience with specific methodologies and analyses: behavioral studies, multivariate analysis, path modeling, GIS, tracking surveys, mapping studies, multi-item scaling;
- Management of multiple studies and teams; and
- Ability to design, develop and implement operations research and population-based surveys.
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of a statistical analysis program, experience of designing different types of qualitative studies and ability to train, manage and develop capacity within country-level staff.
