Healthy Start New Orleans is seeking an intern to work with the Special Projects Coordinator. In this practicum, the student:
- Works with the Special Projects Coordinator to plan outreach efforts, identify key focus areas, setting outreach goals, and manage a team of interns who will conduct outreach
- Conducts Healthy Start needs assessments and outreach activities and effectively provides information to the public about Healthy Start New Orleans and the Best Babies Zone
- Helps database paper surveys and assists in the analysis of that data
- Curates weekly outreach efforts and creates and maintains calendar of Best Babies Zone outreach efforts
- Maintains a database that captures staff and intern participation in events, number of residents touched, maps of outreach efforts, and other relevant information
- Assists in the compilation and analysis of project information and produces a final report on the success of the outreach program and identifies areas of opportunity for improvement (based on survey data, other similar programs’ methods, and any other relevant data)
- Provides support for special events
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Project
- Provides assistance to Healthy Start Coordinators and Managers as needed, including Special Projects Coordinator (Best Babies Zone, Action Learning Collaborative, Special Events, etc.) and Administrative Personnel Coordinator
