PSI seeks entrepreneurial, experienced candidates for the position of Senior Clinical Advisor, Reproductive Health. The Senior Clinical Advisor will be responsible for providing assistance in quality assurance, monitoring, evaluation and guideline development for PSI’s reproductive health service delivery programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America. This full-time position is based in Washington DC.
RESPONSIBILITES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design innovative health service delivery models in resource-poor settings, for providing essential health services at scale. These will often, though not exclusively, involve franchising of private sector health care providers and teams of mobile service provides;
- Assist the Global Medical Director to establish protocols for quality assurance in service delivery;
- Provide monitoring of quality of care in clinical settings;
- Provide field based observations and other input as needed to country project managers and the Global Medical Director with respect to relations with donor, government, NGO, and commercial entities; and
- Assist the Global Medical Director to ensure that the quality of service delivery activities are being monitored closely, accurately and in ways that enable continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Nurse Midwife, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician’s Assistant with at least 5 years overall experience in clinical settings;
- At least 2 years experience with international public health programs;
- Minimum 2 years work experience in a developing country;
- Experience with writing, editing and working with guidelines or similar standards of care;
- Experience with clinical quality assurance;
- Fluency in English; French and/or Spanish preferred; and
- Willing to travel significantly (up to 50 % during first year).
The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, the ability to work well under pressure, strong quality assurance and clinical skills, and ability to produce results. The ideal candidate will also be able to work independently with strong collaborative, organizational, technical skills and ability to constructively supervise and provide guidance to field based team members.
