Research Associate (Public Health)
Resources for the Future (RFF) is a nonprofit research and public policy organization that focuses on a variety of natural resource, public health, and environmental issues. Established in 1952, the organization is committed to both scholarly excellence and policy analysis. Researchers at RFF address a wide range of issues including benefit-cost analysis of environmental and other health and safety regulations; economics of public health and disease interventions; the economics of energy and the environment, forestry, biodiversity, water, and other resources; issues related to the environment and the economy of developing countries; and conceptual modeling and analysis of public policy pertaining to these topics.
Candidates should have a master’s or doctoral degree in public health, public policy, economics, or a related field and a good working knowledge of U.S. health policy. Between 3 and 5 years of experience in health policy will be a plus. This position will support policy research initiatives on antibiotic resistance and antibiotic use. Candidates should be well organized, be able to independently manage tasks, and have excellent communications and writing skills. Mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and computer programming are also desirable skills for this position.
We offer a one-year appointment beginning in September 2008 with the expectation of a three-year tenure. Salary is competitive.
