Position Description:This is an opportunity for dedicated, enthusiastic and talented health professionals to apply their public health skills though assisting the Mayor’s Office of Health Policy and AIDS Funding by quality assurance. Candidates selected will work with the quality manager in all aspects of quality assurance/improvement activities. This includes data entry, data analysis and report writing results from the medical chart review. Once completed, candidates will leave with real-life experiences working with a governmental entity, grassroots organizations, apply monitoring and evaluation theories, and have experience with policy change in HIV/AIDS services.
This is a unique and wonderful opportunity to help the HIV/AIDS community and apply the skills and
knowledge acquired.
Qualifications
Knowledge of HIV/AIDS treatment and social service a plus.
- Knowledge of program implementation is a plus, not required.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, SPSS, Access, PowerPoint
- Be an eager learner, open minded, and creative
- Have strong administrative and organizational skills
- Show strong communication skills, oral and written
Department Description The Office of Health Policy and AIDS Funding (OHP) is a federally funded grant program in the City’s Health Department that administers the Ryan White Title I Program. This program funds over fifteen agencies to provide treatment and support services to those living with HIV/AIDS in New Orleans metropolitan area and seven surrounding parishes. Some services include primary care, case management, dental care, transportation, substance use and much more.
