PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATOR (richmond / point / annex)

Contractor for CA Dept of Public Health seeks Public Health Educator to work with communities with environmental exposure issues as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assess the health impact from hazardous waste sites and facilities where chemicals are used. Responsibilities include conducting needs assessments of community and health care professionals, developing educational and outreach materials/activities for health care professionals and community; planning the public release of reports including coordination with public affairs and involved agencies; facilitating large public meetings and convening stakeholder groups; gathering community concerns and preparing qualitative summary for public health reports; and reviewing health assessments for literacy and readability. MPH or equivalent degree and 5 yrs exp. in community organizing and group facilitation in an environmental health related field, bilingual/Spanish required. Sal $48-55K DOE. Exc. benefits.
