OUR MISSION, GROWTH, AND DREAMS
Our Mission
One World Foundation is a 501(c) (3), non profit organization whose mission is to encourage young people from minority and indigenous backgrounds to become actively engaged in the human rights and development arenas. We believe that social justice, economic justice and respect for human rights can be achieved through global campaigns and coalitions of committed young people.
Our Growth
As programming and participation continues to develop within the organization, our mission has grown, incorporating a spectrum of struggles and hopes in human rights and development. Our participants will not simply participate in global exchange, but pioneer and change the way it works. One World is conscious of and focused on cross-cultural exchanges between impacted and affected communities.
Our Dreams
One World provides experiences for One World Young Leaders to work with disadvantaged children in Cambodia where they will not only help to transform lives in Cambodia but will also serve as important diplomats for their communities in the United States.
In Senegal, we hope One World Young Leaders will contribute to the fight against poverty and the social deprivations it imposes upon communities while gaining the powerful understanding that rich and diverse cultures exist beyond our borders.
In India, we hope that One World Young Leaders understand that the struggle for minority rights Dalit communities have undertaken is inextricably linked to their own struggle for social justice.
Most importantly, we are determined to see that while our Young Leaders develop lifelong friendships with each other and friends they make in the host countries they strengthen their passion towards social justice ? all in one amazing trip.
