Qualifications:
Epidemiology and Biostatistics experience is required. Knowledge and experience in evaluation of public health nutrition and physical activity are strongly desired.
The state civil service exam for the Research Scientist II classification requires a minimum of a master’s degree and three years of experience. The research involved in completion of the dissertation required for a doctoral degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
**Appointment to civil service positions with the State of California requires eligible ranking on a state list. In order to get on the state list, you must have taken the exam as well as filled out the state application. The Research Scientist II exam is offered continuously.
