It’ll be about 12-15 hours per week, salary yet to be determined, but probably between $12-$15/hour. It will need to be filled at least through December (the person would have to be in town during the summer), with continuation pending the renewal of the grant that funds it. The job would officially be under Catholic Charities, at least through December 2008, and the Latino Forum is a developing network/group made of various agencies that work in or want to work in the Latino community in some regard. Administrative Assistant
Summary
The Part-Time Latino Forum Administrative Assistant is a grant-contingent position that is responsible for assisting the facilitator (a CCANO grants coordinator) and steering committee on a day to day basis for activities, functions and areas assigned to the position.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
This position requires the ability to assist the administrative person in a variety of situations. It requires a person with public relations skills, communications skills, initiative, good judgement, decision making and the ability to respond on demand to varied situations. It requires an action oriented person with a high level of interest in all facets of the group, organizational skill and proven ability to handle detail, organize facts, put together projects, action plans, agendas, etc.
The position also requires an interest or experience in working with low income and multicultural populations.
Minimum qualifications
High School Diploma/GED, knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, bilingual in oral and written English and Spanish.
Additional qualifications
A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license is preferred.
Essential functions of position:
- Establishes and maintains communication with the administrative personnel.
- Coordinates and attends bi-monthly Latino Forum meetings.
- Prepares documents, reports, letters, etc.
- Maintains a database for the use of service providers and community members.
- Coordinates and disperses information from various groups to the entities requiring it, primarily by maintaining an online blog site.
- Attends various partnership meetings.
- Coordinates translation and interpretation.
- Conducts outreach, as necessary.
- Gives input into the progress of the group by communicating ideas and insights to the Steering Committee.
- Assist in the implementation of specified projects, committee work, etc.
- Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor.
