Internship Title: Health Educator Intern or Case Management Intern
City Department Health Dept-Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program

Position Description Selected Health educator interns will interpret and educate general public about lead poisoning and New Orleans Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program.
Intern will serve as a vital addition to the office in each of the following ways:
-Assist in planning and coordination of a City-wide health fair
-Distribution of educational materials
-Preparation and presentation of lead poisoning prevention research to civic and professional groups around the City.
Case management interns will be more client facing. Interns must enjoy working with young children and their families. Interns will interact and disseminate program materials and agendas to the clients.
Qualifications Excellent communication skills; good computer skills; Hard worker; Fast learner; good organizational skills.
Public health major preferred.
Due to the sensitive nature of this position, selected interns must pass criminal background check and drug screening.
Department Description The mission of New Orleans Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program is to identify and eliminate lead poisoning morbidity in children 6 – 72 months old through primary prevention activities, blood lead screening, and comprehensive case management services.
