Associate Director, Technical (Mozambique):

Position Description:
Responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight to FHI’s HIV/AIDS technical team that implements the Antiretroviral Treatment (ART), Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT), Counseling and Testing for HIV (CT), palliative and home-based care (HBC) for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and Strategic Behavior Communications (SBC) components of the HIV/AIDS Care and Support Program. Leads and coordinates strategy development and implementation of activities to ensure technical soundness and quality of interventions. Mentors and supervises technical staff based in Maputo and in the provinces. Collaborates closely with the Ministry of Health, Key stakeholders, and Implementing Partners to build their technical capacity and ensure coordination and provision of integrated ART, PMTCT, CT and STI services and other appropriate interventions, including other prevention and support services in the community. This position is full-time based in Maputo, Mozambique, with frequent travel to the field.

Minimum Requirements:
MS/MA/MPH in public health or related field, and 7-9 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS with international development programs; or PhD, MD or similar degree with 3 – 5 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS with international development programs. Overseas field experience required. Languages: English and Portuguese required.
