IPPF/WHR seeks a professional with expertise in monitoring and evaluation of sexual and reproductive health and rights initiatives for the position of Evaluation Coordinator/Safe Abortion. The principal responsibilities of this position include working with the regional office safe abortion team and Member Associations in Latin America and the Caribbean to strengthen data collection and monitoring and evaluation efforts in a multi-country initiative designed to increase access to safe abortion services.
Tasks
Provide technical support to the Safe Abortion Team on a 17-country initiative in the following areas:
· Provide direct technical assistance to participating Member Associations (MA) in data collection and monitoring and evaluation efforts
· Review and clean MA abortion-related data
· Develop/adapt/format data reporting and analysis formats and other monitoring and evaluation tools
· Conduct analyses in Excel and SPSS
· Prepare data presentations, abstracts and reports
· Support the project Evaluation Committee comprising MA and regional office representatives
· Provide support to current Safe Abortion Evaluation Coordinator in preparing and conducting regional evaluation initiatives
· Support Safe Abortion Team in other areas as needed
Provide technical support to the Evaluation Unit in the following areas:
· Assist in development of monitoring and evaluation resource packets
· Assist in select training activities with Regional Office and MA staff
· Support Evaluation Unit and Office of Programs in other areas as needed
Serve as Program Advisor to one MA.
Requirements
· Graduate Degree-MSW, MPH, MA or related field and at least one year experience
· Advanced oral and written skills in Spanish and English required
· Knowledge of research design techniques used at graduate school level and in public health evaluation and research; demonstrated experience with conducting statistical analyses using SPSS
· Experience in designing, planning, and implementing sexual and reproductive health and rights programs and evaluations in the field
· Knowledge and understanding of the context in Latin America and the Caribbean for abortion service provision; ability to work in challenging and sensitive programs designed to improve access to safe abortion
· Essential traits include being systematic, organized, detail- and deadline-oriented, self-motivated, able to multi-task and work well in a team-oriented environment.
· Some Travel required.
