JOB TITLE: Director of the Western New York Community Health Planning

Institute (WCHPI)

REPORTS TO: Executive Director, P2 Collaborative of Western New York

SUMMARY

Develops a process, infrastructure and sustainability for a community health planning center of excellence which is of demonstrated value to the WNY community.  Serves as the lead in the development and execution of the strategic planning framework for community-based health planning in WNY.  Manages collection, analysis and reporting of regional health data. Leads the staff support for the Steering Committee and topical work groups.  Assures transparency and public accountability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Works collaboratively with and provides staff support for the Community Health Planning Steering Committee and various work groups to create and implement targeted strategic projects.
  2. Prepares recommendations for Community Health Planning Steering Committee on matters of policy direction for community-wide health planning and implements policies and directions set.
  3. Directs the operations of and builds a staff that can implement the targeted projects and provide ongoing staffing for the various work groups.
  4. Reports regularly to the Community Health Planning Steering Committee on services, financial status, and overall performance of WCHPI.
  5. Continuously evaluates the community-wide planning structure and operations to insure ability of the organization to efficiently attain the deliverables of the HEAL 9 grant.
  6. Participates in cultivating and recruiting new stakeholders.
  7. Develops and monitors reporting systems for effective public accountability.
  8. Directs development and implementation of, a strategic communications plan in collaboration with the Community Health Planning Steering Committee and a communications consultant.
  9. Assures positive, ongoing public and community relations on community health issues and is the primary spokesperson for the initiative with a wide-variety of constituents.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s in Human Services Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related degree with a minimum of five years in a senior planning position.

SKILLS: Demonstrated collaborative leadership analytical and operational excellence, outcome orientation, strong communication and constituency development experience
