Job Description: Responsible for data and database management for the HIV Incidence Surveillance and the Medical Monitoring Project (MMP) grants. Monitors data flow into respective databases and ensures that collected data are complete, current and valid. Maintains documentation of all respective databases and database management protocol. Recommends procedures to enhance data integrity and data collection. Designs procedures to analyze and evaluate data, produces data summaries and reports, and compiles statistics. Runs routine programs, troubleshoots performance problems, prepares and generates reports, monitors and resolves system issues, and updates/repairs code tables. Provides data management services including data quality checks. Conducts epidemiologic analyses of data to determine statistically significant trends involving HIV incidence estimates and risk outcomes. Minimum Qualifications Thorough knowledge of and experience with database management and maintenance activities; data collection methods and techniques; data analyses and reporting; database applications and programming languages, including Microsoft Access, Excel, and/or Visual Basic. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work as a team member and independently; perform effectively in a complex and dynamic environment; analyze problems in a logical and systematic manner; maintain data integrity and confidentiality. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, epidemiology, public health, statistics and/or equivalent experience and training. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of epidemiologic and statistical methodologies, public health principles, SQL and SAS.
