Boys Town Louisiana is looking for a part-time Data Coordinator for its Community-based Abstinence Education program. The program’s purpose is to provide an abstinence-only educational curriculum to 9th and 10th grade public high school students. This project is federally funded and is research-driven to determine the effectiveness of the program.

The Data Coordinator’s major responsibilities and duties include:
·       Assists in the collection of data for social science research firm and collaborates with Boys Town staff as assigned:

·       Knowledge of the local area public schools and strong data collection skills required

1       Serves as the point person of data collection for Boys Town, area schools and research agency.
2       Knowledge of survey methodology and outcome evaluation design desirable, but not required
3       Must be detail-oriented and a self-starter able to work independently
4       Excellent written communication skills needed.
5       Experience in working with local community organizations preferred.
6       Works with senior researchers to collect and manage data at Boys Town, local public schools, and other social service agencies as assigned.

7       Assists in the program survey distribution and other data collection
8       Ability to review and record gathered information and code data.

·       Coordinates and monitors the implementation of site based training and data collection
·       Contacts parents to obtain consent, and administer surveys to research subjects

1       Develops and maintains appropriate tracking and data collection systems in conjunction with supervisors
2       Reports on data collection and processes and delivers data collected information to supervisors or research firm

3       Provides input to update current materials or improve program data collection processes.
4       Miscellaneous/other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor of Arts/Science degree required in human services, psychology, criminal justice or a related field; 2. Knowledge of Boys Town Program a plus and experience working within a community-based setting; 3. Must have own car and ability to travel locally; 4. Must posses a valid drivers’ license with a good driving record.
