HIV/AIDS Out of Care Survey

The New Orleans Regional AIDS Planning Council (NORAPC) is seeking a graduate student intern to assist with survey administration for 3 hours a week for 3 weeks from May 19th – June 6th. The Out of Care Survey is designed to assess barriers to care and service needs for HIV positive individuals who have not received primary medical care for their HIV for a 12 month period. **Please note that although this special project is time limited, internship opportunities are ongoing at NORAPC and can be designed to fit Practicum and Capstone requirements. Responsibilities

Under supervision of the Health Planner:

  • Attend an orientation meeting with research team
  • Administer surveys at designated sites (to include homeless shelters and substance abuse services sites)
  • Data entry

Qualifications

  • Graduate student enrolled in a health science or public health program
  • Computer skills to include MS Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of MS Access a plus
  • Some knowledge of HIV/AIDS a bonus
  • Ability to work independently

Total Hours: 3 – 5 hours per week

Compensation: This is a non-paid internship
