International Conference on Family Planning

The Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is partnering with the Makerere University, School of Public Health, along with other international and national partners, to organize the International Conference on Family Planning: Research and Best Practices in Kampala, Uganda, November, 15-18, 2009. The conference will begin on November 15 with an evening opening and continue November 1617 with the full program. November 18 will be an optional day for thirdparty sponsored meetings. It is anticipated that the conference program will include an opening plenary, multiple concurrent oral sessions, special panel presentations, poster sessions, lunchtime roundtables, a policymaker forum, and an exhibit area.

We invite you and your colleagues to submit abstracts. Attached to this email is a Conference Brief and the Call for Abstracts. Note that abstracts will be accepted online at the conference website, www.fpconference2009.org. You can also download a submission form and submit it by e-mail or fax.

Participant registration will open on June 15. For more information, please visit the conference website or e-mail our conference coordinator, Maura Graff, at info@fpconference2009.org.

Please circulate this widely among your colleagues. With luck and perseverance, we may well reduce unmet contraceptive need and raise global population welfare through several days of shared knowledge and inspiration in Kampala.
