Spring Semester 2009 Internship

Qualifications:

  • Strong Organizational skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Excellent communication and computer skills

  • Interest in social programs, research & writing

Duties:

The intern will assist Research Analysts and Senior Research Analysts with grant writing and evaluation projects. Activities will depend upon project needs, but may include:

  • General office duties such as photocopying, filing, organizing, making phone calls, scheduling meetings, preparing documents
  • Data entry (scanning surveys, entering and cleaning data)
  • Data gathering, such as conducting brief interviews
  • Reviewing and abstracting published research
  • Prospecting for grant funds
  • Preparing grant application narratives, budgets and forms
  • Basic data analysis using Excel or STATA (descriptive statistics, chart preparation)
  • Copy editing of reports

Start date: February 2, 2009

Vacation/ benefits: none

Pay: $12/ hr

Hours: 10-15 hours/ week. Work schedule is flexible.

Location: 8434 Oak Street, New Orleans

Work environment: PRG is a demanding but casual work environment.
