Be part of a vibrant and growing organization that works directly with a
diverse group of residents, community-based organizations, government
agencies, medical professionals, and other individuals who are concerned
with the factors that contribute to the rising prevalence of asthma
within
vulnerable populations of Boston and other Massachusetts communities.
Founded in 1997, the Boston Urban Asthma Coalition's (BUAC) mission is
to
build a comprehensive and coordinated approach to asthma control and
prevention in Boston. BUAC, a parent driven, grassroots level coalition
of
over 300 community partners, accomplishes this by promoting

disparities in asthma prevalence, asthma management, and asthma hazards
in
the home, school, and other environments.

Advocacy
Partnership (MAAP). MAAP, a statewide coalition of partners, is
committed to
reducing asthma health disparities in the Commonwealth by coordinating
statewide advocacy efforts. MAAP links to local efforts across the state
by
bringing together community organizations and other partners to achieve
sustainable statewide changes in the environment, education, and the
quality
of health care. MAAP's comprehensive approach includes, supporting
