PSI seeks applicants for the position of Financial Analyst in its Washington, DC office. The Financial Analyst is responsible for financial backstopping duties to PSI’s programs in the West and Central Africa region. This position entails approximately 10% overseas travel and will report to the Regional Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interact regularly with headquarters and field staff to resolve financial issues;
  • Review and analyze monthly status reports;
  • Assist with financial management of donor-funded projects, including monthly analysis and forecasting;
  • Assist with internal and external budgeting as needed;
  • Serve as main liaison on financial issues between Regional Department, Accounting Department and field offices;
  • Manage re-classification and correct entries as needed;
  • Review, analyze and approve donor bills;
  • Interpret country balance sheets;
  • Assist with orientations and trainings of program staff as needed;
  • Assist with audit requests; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA in finance or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum 3 + years professional work experience;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and strong analytical/problem solving capabilities;
  • Experience with accounting software and spreadsheets;
  • Fluency in English and French.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; and
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.

Preference will be given to candidates with U.S. federal contract accounting regulations, budgets, balance sheet review and financial analysis; exposure to auditing, training and/or financial oversight of foreign entities; strong attention to detail; and interactive nature.
