APEX – Always Pursuing EXcellence – is a non-profit, community-based youth center located in Central City. We offer local youth a safe space to laugh, learn, play and grow; while providing a meal, mentoring, tutoring, community service opportunities, recreation, and other structured activities. APEX Youth Center is looking for service interns to assist with grant writing, data management, program design, and administrative work in the realm of non-profits.
In all intern positions, the candidate must have enthusiasm and an interest in the educational issues surrounding local youth. Creativity and an interest in creating and developing innovative ideas is necessary.

Program Intern
The program intern will assist in design and implementation of various programs inspired by the intern and the program director while managing current programs. Under the supervision of the program director, this intern opportunity provides an undergraduate student with a view into the administrative tasks of programming for youth and the application of creative thinking.
Data Management/ Monitoring and Evaluation Intern:
APEX needs a tech-savvy intern to assist with the management of data collection and intake. Knowledgeable on various formats, the data management intern must be able to analyze APEX current data collections, repair any faults, and produce reports as necessary. Creativity is encouraged as the intern must also be able to suggest new methods to streamline intake and assist with membership data flow. Along with assisting with program monitoring and evaluation.
Marketing Intern:
APEX Youth Center would like to expand its outreach and its advertising abilities with your help as a marketing intern! As more publicity and volunteer assistance is needed, APEX would like the knowledge of a keen marketing or business major to accomplish this task. Applicants must be self-motivated and driven to achieve results. An interest in exploring local New Orleans is preferred. The marketing intern would be working with other organizations and various platforms to spread APEX’s mission and increase awareness of our organization.
Grant Intern:
Amplify your skills as a writer through community service as APEX Youth Center’s grant intern! Any student with an interest in pushing their limits as a writer while receiving support and encouragement is welcome to apply as the grant intern for APEX. No previous grant writing experience is required. This intern will be shown the ropes of grant writing and given opportunities to test and then refine their abilities. Dedication, innovation, and creativity are highly valued in this position. Any student with interest in learning a valuable skill is highly recommended to apply.
