KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Develop and implement a strategic plan and annual plan.
2.Coordinate activities and programs which meet the Institute goals of enhancing the quality and quantity of HIV research in the Pacific region.
3.Facilitate research partnerships with stakeholders in government, non-profit and private sectors nationally and overseas.
4.Promote the Instituteʼs public presence across the Pacific region, for example, through professional and industry journals, and international colloquia.
5.Develop the Instituteʼs research links in the Pacific region.
6.Assist researchers and research groups in applying for relevant external research funding from competitive sources and government, private and industry sources.
7.Design and coordinate a program to link postgraduate students to the Institute and to support their development as HIV researchers.
8.Be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Institute. itive sources and government, private and industry sources.
9.Prepare reports for Institute Reference Group meetings.
10.Provide secretariat support for the Institute Reference Group.

12.Manage researchers and other staff engaged by the Institute and ensure research funding requirements are met.
13.Secure funding for Institute infrastructure and for specific research projects
