RESEARCH FROM THE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN MATERNAL & CHILD HEALTH LEADERS
Maternal Health & Well-BEING
The Tulane CEMCH prioritizes research in maternal health by exploring various facets such as prenatal care, maternal mental health, access to healthcare services, and factors influencing maternal well-being. Research initiatives may involve studies on the impact of socioeconomic factors, cultural influences, and healthcare policies on maternal health outcomes, aiming to improve overall well-being and health equity among mothers.
Child Health & DEVELOPMENT
Within the realm of child health and development, the CEMCH emphasizes research on pediatric healthcare, early childhood development, and factors affecting a child’s physical, mental, and emotional growth. This research might encompass studies on nutrition, immunization, early interventions for developmental delays, and socio-environmental influences, contributing to a better understanding of child health needs and effective strategies for fostering healthy development.
Youth Development + Violence Prevention
Focusing on youth development and violence prevention, the CEMCH conducts research to understand the factors leading to violence among youth and effective intervention strategies. Research in this area might involve studying the impact of community programs, school-based initiatives, mental health support, and the role of social environments in preventing violence among young individuals. The aim is to identify and implement evidence-based practices that promote positive youth development and reduce instances of violence in their lives.
