The USAID Office of HIV/AIDS is recruiting a Gender Project Manager.
Summary of the Program
The US Government (USG) has made the fight against HIV/AIDS a top priority, not only for humanitarian reasons, but because, the HIV/AIDS crisis threatens the prosperity, stability and development of nations around the world. USAID has been, and continues to be, at the forefront of the USG response in the fight again the HIV/AIDS pandemic, funding over $3.2 billion since the inception of its international HIV/AIDS program in 1986, with HIV/AIDS programs in nearly 100 countries worldwide.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Gender Project Manager will serve as member of the USG Interagency Gender Technical Working Group (GTWG) to provide leadership for PEPFAR in the field of gender and HIV/AIDS. As an expert manager and authority on policy, program and budgetary issues, the Manager will work with the Office of HIV/AIDS (OHA) Senior Gender Advisor and other GTWG members to develop and recommend policies, strategies, and plans related to gender issues as they relate to HIV/AIDS. While working primarily in the Office of HIV/AIDS within the Global Health Bureau, the Manager will be expected to participate in assignments that cut across organizational lines.
