Public Health Nurses – Bilingual (Spanish)

At the Chicago Department of Public Health you will work with a team of
passionate and dedicated professionals who contribute to maintain the
health population of 77 neighborhoods at more than 40 sites that
includes providing health promotion, prevention and education for the
City’s population.

Duties:
* Will provide professional nursing care to individuals in a
community environment; conduct physical examinations to assess client’s
health status; administer prescribed medications according to department
protocols; develop and implements nursing care plans for patients;
educate and instruct individuals in health education, disease
prevention, nutrition, and child care.

* Conducts health assessments; provides treatments, immunizations,
education, and other nursing interventions; organizes caseloads,
processes billing and health information; provides nursing care to all
types of clients, such as, pediatric, women’s health and adult health as
determined by the need for nursing services. Performs other duties as
assigned.

Note: Bi-lingual (Spanish) candidates will be given first consideration.

Requirements :

* Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse, supplemented
by two years of work experience in ambulatory care nursing, OR a
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited
National League for Nursing (NLN) program with a license to practice as
a Registered Nurse. Applicants must possess a valid State of Illinois
Registered Nurse license at the time of employment. BSN new grads
welcome to apply!

Note: Level II Public Health Nurses require at least one (1) year of
work experience in public health nursing.
