Global Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Initiative

World Vision, (ww.worldvision.org), a leading Christian humanitarian aid agency, is part of a consortium of international development organizations responding to a major USAID global initiative in maternal and child health (MCH).
We are looking for leaders and innovators in the Maternal and Child Health field to help achieve measurable reductions in under-five and maternal and child mortality and morbidity.
In this large global leadership five-year project, you will drive further development of high impact MCH interventions, including program approaches to effectively deliver those interventions. You will also test new approaches and tools to promote effective implementation and adaptation in the field and will conduct analyses to document the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of intervention strategies. The project will include programs that link MCH interventions with other US government health programs, including child survival, malaria and HIV/AIDS programs.
World Vision, in collaboration with the consortium agencies, is recruiting the following key leadership positions:
1. Project Director
The Project Director will have overall responsibility for coordination of project activities and staff and principal responsibility for project representation to USAID. The Project Director should help articulate a vision for the project and effectively lead and manage available financial and human resources to make that vision a reality.
Qualifications required are: executive level leadership with an advanced degree in health sciences and at least 15 years experience leading, managing and implementing large international maternal and child health projects in developing countries, plus experience interacting with U.S.
Government agencies. Experience in managing consortiums and multi-agency leadership initiatives preferable. The position is based in Washington DC

2. Deputy Project Director
The Deputy Project Director will be responsible for daily operations of the project, including financial accountability, staffing, work planning, and reporting, as well as acting for the project director when s/he is absent.
S/he will handle management of the central office and the country sites, in
terms of staffing, facilities, equipment, vehicles, reporting,
and finances. The Deputy will be familiar with the technical components of MCH interventions and the support services they require, and be able to represent the project in public program presentations. The Deputy will ensure that project operations are fully in compliance with USAID regulations and integrated with host-country cultural practice.
Qualifications required include an advanced degree in the health sciences, with at least ten (10) years experience in developing countries and a minimum of five (5) years implementing and managing large international development projects. 3. Global Leadership Team Leader
The Global Leadership Team Leader will manage the development, identification, application and transfer of efficient and effective approaches and strategies for achieving improved coverage and greater impact for maternal, neonatal, child health and nutrition interventions.
Qualifications required include: an advanced degree in the health sciences, significant experience working at the international policy level on key MCH interventions, and demonstrated experience in moving key interventions from concept to pilot testing to large-scale country rollout. 4. Country Support Team Leader
The Country Support Team Leader will manage the use of proven maternal, neonatal, child health and nutrition interventions, including family planning, in country programs. S/he will be responsible for managing technical assistance to other mechanisms such as USAID-supported Mission bilateral projects, as well as direct implementation of country programs, where applicable. S/he will also be responsible for defining specific, quantifiable performance indicators and targets for country programs, and reporting results.
Qualifications required include: 5 years in-country experience managing MCH or integrated health programs.

5. Senior PVO/NGO Advisor
The Senior PVO/NGO Advisor will be responsible for coordinating technical and capacity building assistance to PVO/NGO grantee programs to ensure innovative, effective, scalable, and sustainable programming, and to assist with developing a framework for evaluating innovations.
Qualifications required are strong analytical and technical skills in the area of community-oriented strategies and NGO programming; demonstrated experience coordinating technical assistance and inputs needed by PVO/NGO grantees and local partners; working across diverse teams to effectively monitor and address the needs of centrally managed programs; and minimum of 10 years developing country experience working in public health.

6. PVO/NGO Support Team Leader
The PVO/NGO Support Team Leader will be responsible for overall strategic direction and management of support to PVOs and will be the primary point of contact for the USAID/CTOs for CSHGP and PMI/ MCP for all programming issues.
Qualifications required include a minimum 10 years experience providing technical assistance and management support to centrally-managed USAID PVO/NGO programs, and experience providing organizational development and capacity building to PVOs/NGOs and their local partners.
