Eight of our MPH students attended the 2019 CityMatCH Maternal and Child Health Leadership Conference, held September 23-25, in Providence, Rhode Island. What follows is a post from one of these attendees.

I was very excited to attend the CityMatCH conference this semester. I liked the idea that I was going to a conference where most of the attendees are currently working in the maternal and child health field. My goals for attending this conference was to make connections with MCH workforce. Based on my own past experiences I was nervous that I would not be able to make organic connections. However, the experience that I had at CityMatCH was positive and very welcoming. From the attendees to the presenters/speakers all of my interactions were welcoming and engaging.
The different presentations that I attended gave light to the different areas of current study of MCH. Specifically, the growing conversation and efforts to include men in MCH. The passion which all of the presenters and speakers had was obvious. In addition, the commitment to health equity in MCH specifically, and in public health was a common goal of all of the presenters. After this experience I am so happy to be a part of a welcoming and passionate group of public health professionals.
